My role (Pierre Medeiros) in the development of the Conflux game was primarily to do with the artistic design and game concept design. In terms of workload, this meant i was primarily drawing pictures for the game and the promotional material. A short list of examples of things I worked on would be the following:
-Character designs.
-Game avatars.
-Promotional Posters.
-Promotional movie.
Even though, my focus was on the artistic side of the game, that doesn't mean my role was a solo process. In all aspects of the design of Conflux John and I at least briefly consulted each other to get feedback and/or advice.

This is a early sketch done of the earth character for conflux. When working on this character iwas still fleshing out the theme that the game would be following. I wanted an oddball feel with hints of nastiness.

This picture is the development sketch of the fire character. By this stage I was quite certain about the kind of theme i would be going for with the heroes. The darker elements had been toned back quite a bit and the humorous, eccentric side was being accentuated.

Once the development of the heroes had been settled upon, the next step was to start designing their foes. There were many options explored. To the right is one avenue which was explored. This image is that of an evil Packman. The idea was to have evil versions of the main characters from retro arcade games. In the end this idea just didn't seem right and was scrapped.

The picture to the right was the concept design for the "Legion", the eventual final basic enemy for conflux. their basic idea is that they are squid like monsters which spit green gloop at the players character. This design was settled on as it fitted the slightly odd and unusual character designs which had already been set up with the heroes.

This is a picture of "Maximillion Head". This character is the boss of conflux and is essentially everything the game is trying to be. He is odd strange slightly funny, slightly unnerving and full of character. Once this character was developed the game started to really settle on the direction it was headed style wise, which made things much more smooth sailing.

The Images to the right are examples of the birds eye view which the characters in the game would be drawn with. Further to the right are the four heroes colored and ready to be used in the games character selection screen.

The image to the right is the final, title screen which was used for the conflux game. At one stage there was the idea of having Maximillions eye beams in the background and/or having some kind of logo. Once this title screen was made it effectively laid the way for the designs of the rest of the menu and in-game environment.

This is an example of the promotional posters which were included in the conflux game package. They were designed as simple, yet flexible pieces of visual promotion.
